Project time

Since being let go, (more on that when I can put it eloquently) I've had a lot of free time on my hands!  This of course has prompted me to get into home repairs.  I have done lots of great stuff around the apartment including, winterizing my planters, fixing dents and scratches in the walls and counters, and painting.  But the really big project is re-upholstering my couch.

The budget is tight so I am going to do the upholstery myself.

While researching I found Bubba!

This one is going to be really useful for me

And this one is just my favourite.  Bubba is fantastic.

This morning I went down to Queen West and picked out some amazing off-white vinyl fabric at one of my favourite places on Vanauley St.  Total cost with two extra yards was $32 bucks.  Crystal is going to help me make pillow tomorrow with the extra yardage.

I also arranged to rent an upholstery staple gun from Stephenson's.  If you ever need trade equipment, big or small, and you don't want to buy it, Stephenson's is the place.  I was hoping to take it with me, but they didn't have the right staples. However, they promised to order them in first thing, and sure enough I got a call later today.  I am going to go pick everything up tomorrow midday.  The rental is gonna run me about $30 dollars as well, staples included.  They guys there were so helpful and service was exceptional.

LSATs Take That

Yesterday, after three or four months of prepping I took the LSATs for the first and hopefully last time. I wish that I could have taken pictures at the test, they were very strict about cell phones in the test room. But if I had been able to I would have gotten some good ones. Like the brown haired girl who took the exam in her tube top. I'll just say that I wore gloves and my hood for the first two sections of the test. Also there were lots of prom curls, which i found odd at 8 am. Neurotic kids with fifteen pencils, that sort of thing. Anyway, so glad the test is over and so last night Sharif and I went out to celebrate.

First stop the Burger Bar to watch the Leafs get annihilated.

They have spiked milkshakes on the menu, how great is that.

The most massive brownie ever. From there we went to The Abbey to sit on Lauren's bar for a while.

Lauren in her sexi new ski jacket. Thanks Marsha

The Abbey's disco cover band. Yes Sir I can boogie

We all parted ways after this. And I proceeded to leave all my important cards behind. Thankfully I got them back this morning. Otherwise LSAT celebrating would definitely have been a bigger bummer than the LSATs themselves.

Congrats Timmy

God I miss The San Francisco Giants. I was so upset they didn't make the playoffs this year, mostly because if they had I would have gotten to watch a few games. But I am still glad to hear that Tim Lincecum won the NL Cy Young award. Way to go!

Film Fest and Canada's Walk of Fame.

Friday night Justin was my date to the Mildred's Temple Kitchen party for the TIFF film Passenger Side.

Don't we look cute

Ivan is one of the sexy servers at MTK. He wasn't my biggest fan on Friday though. Maybe because he was working and I was drinking. That might have had something to do with it.

At least Andrea put on a good face

headin' home

And then yesterday I got to work Canada's Walk of Fame which airs tonight at 9 on Global. When I arrived at the Canadian Opera Company Four Seasons Centre Blue Rodeo was doing their sound check.

working as a seat filler for the sound check. Tough gig eh?

Tom Cochrane was being inducted along with BR and he joined them for the finale to sing Lost Together. That's him in the middle between Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor. I actually got to sing onstage with Tom and Blue Rodeo because I was standing in for Howie Mandel and the other inductees who were also part of the finale.

Elisha Cuthbert and Rachelle Lefevre were presenters.

This is possibly the cutest picture I got. That's Gordon Lightfoot peeking onstage during Blue Rodeo's performance.

at the afterparty at the Sheraton. I was ready for a seat.
