The Olympics are Going to be Glorious
As we have already posted the US Olympic outfits are really special. But I prefer the Canadian bobsledders look here. I really hope this is official racing look.
Speaking of bobsledding the Jamacians are BACK. You can help them get to Sochi here.
Germany also had something to say with their official outfits. I think it's a big ole gay fuck you to Putin and the Russian bigots.
Speaking of fuck yous.
And finally the Norwegian curlers. There are no words.

The Best of the 2012 Olympics.
This has got to be the absolute best thing in this years Olympics.
I shed for real tears when, the The US Women's Gymnasts, anchored by this pint-size power house, won team Gold.
Gabby Douglas seriously rocks! And she was so cute on Leno.
My next favourite moment of the Olympics, wasn't really a moment, but rather every moment this guys went for a jog. In fact, Jamaica in my opinion was a serious winner this Olympics. I bet if population size and GDP were factors in the Medal ranking by country Jamaica would be the all-around winner. Anyone know of a ranking system that account for those factors? Seriously though these guys, cool running'!
And what about Canada's golden lady Rosie MacLennan who won the Country's only Gold Medal this summer. She might have gotten the only gold but she wasn't the only great Canadian Olympian.
Christine Sinclair is definitely the greatest woman playing soccer anywhere.
And of course there was this.

Platinum Rocks
Boy it is tough being a Toronto Sports fan these days. But when I suggested we go to see a Toronto Rock lacrosse game Andrew went for it. He even bought the tickets.
I should have known when he said our seats weren't very good over and over.
But I definitely knew something was up when the ushers kept sending us down to our seats. Not very good, ha! I can see everything.
Not a bad view eh?
Not bad at all!
The Rock may have lost this game, but it was awesome. Now there is a team worth going to the ACC for.

Bill Lee is the man
Deadspin re-printed a wicked High Times article from the 80's featuring the former Expos pitcher, Bill Lee. This guy had a pretty decent career, but it was his alternative lifestyle and intellect that made him remarkable. An open drug user, Bill Lee might seem salacious but in actuality this guy was really bright and his irreverence towards the baseball powers-that-be, is pretty amazing. Check it out.

Wear the Pants
Saw the new Dockers ad while watching the Saints and Minnesota game. The newest instalment of the wear the pants campaign isn't available online yet. But, it definitely got my attention. So I went in search of it and found this instead. Most will recognize it from the Super Bowl. But it is new to me, you'll have to forgive me because we don't get the commercials during the Super Bowl up here in Canada. And I was in Asia. I do love wear the pant. Great tag line. Keep your eyes out for the new one, and send it to me if you find it online.

If I grew up playing hockey I'd be rich
Sharif offered to take me to my first Leaf's game, you know since I took him to Battle of the Blades. Obviously a fair trade. Actually I think he took me because we both took the LSATs last weekend.
Arriving at the ACC. I kept wanting to stop for snacks. I mean they have a Cinnabon in Union Station. That is like torture for me. But Sharif insisted that we get inside.
And good thing too. Because as we were coming into the Air Canada Centre I was checking out these two dudes in Maple Leaf Blue valour track suits. And I remember I was thinking "man I want one of those(the tracksuits people,)" and at that moment one of them locked eyes on me and bee-lined right towards us as we started down the hallway.
"Hey," he says, "do you want to shoot the puck from centre ice for 1,000 bucks during the first intermission."
"um, fuck yea!"
Don't I look professional in my pro-line jersey? Those two dudes and I were the shooters. And that guy on my left actually ended up making both the 250$ and the 1,000$ shots! And he had already won a blue ray player. Lucky night. He bought some 50 50 tickets afterwards I think.
Thank god when this chick asked me where I was from I said San Francisco so that when I missed the net miserably I had an excuse. I was not her biggest fan though, because she warned me ON the JUMBOTRON not to "... fall down,"
"um don't be a bitch!."
Sharif did a great job capturing my moment in the sun. I only wish he had gotten a picture of my face on the Jumbotron.
that's me taking my shot. I can see why I didn't make it, since I was facing the corner instead of the net, but I did my best considering I have never held a hockey stick before. (Click on the images to enlarge... because I am worth it.)
so funny. Canadians are so nice too. At least two sweet older ladies gave me the good shot hug when we got back to our seats. Speaking of which...
back to the action. It was a great game! Leafs looked good. Toskala kept is 2-1 and stopped eight for a scoreless 2nd period.
It got intense in the 3rd when Tavares, that bum, scored his second of the night. 2-2. But Blake scored with minutes left in the game and the Leafs held on to win 3-2.
