Canada is Having a Moment

Last night was all about Canada.  Drake's video release was the hottest thing to happen to the music industry since Bey dropped her digital album.

The Blue Jays rolled over Kansas City to get back in the ALCS down two games to one and looking to equalize tonight.

The Liberals seized a majority government in an historic election. Pretty boy Trudeau was all over the New York Times home page this morning

Toronto voters elected all Liberals in their downtown riding.  Prompting the above image from Liberal Blue Jays fans.

This guy knows where's it at.

Around the Way

The cheap seats.

Heading out on our roadtrip.  We drove through Creemore, ON.

And Algonquin, where we saw four moose!

Took in the sites in Ottawa

Selfies!

The canal at dusk!

Spent the afternoon in Quebec.

Arriving in Halifax.

Oh Nova Scotia, you're a beaut.

Idyllic at Peggy's Cove

Did I, or did I not get the best lighthouse shot?  I think I did.

On our way to PEI.

On the Ferry to the Island.

Beautiful Prince Edward Island.

It was May so it was very quite and lovely.

Red roads.

Our home in Charlottetown

Stopped in at the The Great Canadian Soap Company.

Did some scenic driving.

Saw a Bald Eagle!!!!!

And did the obligatory drive by of Anne's Green Gables.

More my style.

PEI is like a postcard.

Seriously.

So is New Brunswick really.

Into it... Douglas Coupland

Went to OCAD last week to hear Douglas Coupland talk about his upcoming retrospective at VAG.  I didn't know much about Coupland other than he is a prolific writer, artist and collector of Canadian Heritage.  Check out two of my current Coupland obsessions.

Digital Orca, from 2009 sits across from the Vancouver Convention Centre.

I also really enjoyed seeing some of the new works he is doing for the show including more of his "Group of Seven" reinterpretations.  This one here is  Harris Superior Tweed in Colour and is based on a beautiful piece by famed Canadian painter Lawren Harris.

New Year Old Friends

Spent Christmas with the Kuglins.  It was so relaxing, festive and wonderful.  But waiting until after 1 p.m. for presents is torture.  And I wont do it again Shannon! ;)

Mason was also a little underwhelmed by having to wait for new toys.  But he clearly loved his holiday bow.

He was pretty sad that I was leaving him behind to go skiing in BC.

Took a flight on Boxing Day, and was lucky enough to get out of icy T.O. without issue.

Had a few epic days on the hill with these ladies.

And a few wild nights too.

It was great to see Darryl and Kelly who were visiting from Australia.

Look at these kids taking ski shots!

McBabe loving his braided hair.

Ain't she cute?

Went back to Calgary for New Years Eve, which was a epic reunion with some great old friends and some new.

Like this guy

Just one of the guys Lize!

It was a beautiful trip and I wont forget it anytime soon.  Happy 2014 to all!
