Turducken Thanksgiving, MWAHaHaHaHa!

Heading north to the cottage with Paul, David Chang and Lauren.

Not too fast now, don't want a run in with the OPP.

Beautiful fall colors, on the drive up to Stoney Lake.

Were almost there.

Arrived at the cottage, just in time cause D Chang was getting stir crazy. can you tell?

I wont lie it was definitely cool at the cottage. But we had a beautiful fire going all weekend, and the oven was constantly on so it was nice and toasty. I even jumped in the lake on Monday - video is coming.

Emily relaxing in the living room, before our intense game of scrabble.

Natalie out on the porch

We had a very relaxing Saturday. The ladies made pies, and Cameron and Max made everyone a delicious stew with dumplings for dinner.

Scrabble is underway

After dinner David Chang got a head start on his delicious scalloped potatoes.

Paul and I share a laugh

Max and Natalie watching the scrabble game

Lauren and Crystal lounging with wine.

Cameron watching the hockey game.
Go Leafs Go, oh who are we kidding.

Later that evening we had a heated game of Cranium. It got very intense

David Chang performing a Sensosketch. With your eyes closed and without any gestures, symbols or letters try to get your team to guess the item on the back of the card. I will read the hint aloud then pass the card to you before starting the timer. Ready go...

Emperor Paul overseeing the other teams from his rocker.

Looking back at these photos it is easy to see why Max and Paul won, they appear to be very involved with the other teams rounds. Get out of there Max

After their victory was assured.

the autocrats celebrate their Cranium win

Crystal looking very festive, day of Thanksgiving dinner.

Me posing with the mallards and the sailboats. How WASPy.

Lauren with her canoe paddle. Which is now at my house thanks Lo.

Paul with the Wheelbarrow. Too funny to miss.

The Thanksgiving table set for 9.

everyone is getting excited for food.

Max and Natalie relaxing before the epic meal.

Lauren was in charge of appetizers. You did a great job Lo.

The swing out back of the cottage.

The view from the deck.

The back deck.

Yes dinner is ready. Look at those delicious pies and tartes.

Cameron and the ladies are ready to eat. Where are the other boys?

O yea that's right they are preparing to cut the Turducken!

I could have done an entire post of just the Turducken carving but I didn't think of it until i had uploaded all the photos so you'll just have to browse through them here. They are in chronological carving order.

For those who don't know a Turducken is a Turkey partially deboned, stuffed with a deboned duck, stuffed with a deboned chicken. All of which are layered with stuffing. Yum!

Max doing all the carving. Like a boss.

This is a good one cause you can see the layers of stuffing and meat.

Doesn't that look delicious.

And here's some of the sides. There's mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, mac and chesse, and stuffing

Here's my plate, and don't worry i ate it all. The asian green beans David Chang made were delicious, plus Emily's asparagus and beets. I have also got some of Natalie's carrots. Just so I didn't overload on carbs I served myself vegatables first.

Everyone enjoying the meal. And we met my goal which was to eat while it was still light out. I think we actually sat down to dinner around 4:30. Perfect.

This is AFTER everyone had eaten. I guess we are gonna have leftovers.

Can you tell we just ate. I can. Feeling large and in charge.

Cameron and Crystal are so cute.

But not as cute as Lauren and me

After dinner relaxin'

... and dancin'. Notice Paul's tiny white pants. Only Paul would wear those to Thanksgiving dinner.

Sunday Uncle Sal and Connor came up to pull the docks out of the water. I guess winter really is on its way.

Heading home. We had to take Lauren back to camp in Bala so we got to do a very scenic and lovely drive through Northern Ontario, on our way back to Toronto.

Believe it or not this general store had a spa in it. Now that is lake hooker.

O Canada

Team backseat

Almost home. I wish we could stay up all winter, but it feels good to get home.

Liza - it looks like you had a wonderful (and cold!) time. I loved the toques on everyone; great bird; and it was lovely to see everyone having a good time. That's what cottages are for!
