Tina Fey is Sarah Palin

Don't worry I will get the Cindy Mccain speech up here as soon as it is on YouTube. My god she was painful. Still love her though. But this is about Palin, I hate to say it but I like her, she is definitely a Karen Walker. Great hair, and she looks totally freaky, in the sexual way. Tina Fey, would definitely do her SNL justice. I am mostly just glad that the RNC is over. God they are so boring, and Dana Bash needs a hamburger - if I have to watch her emaciated frame wax on about how "the base is motivated" anymore I might gone nuts. As an aside, did anybody else catch the tete a tete between Johnny boy and his Candy Cain at the end of his speech? If that didn't look like a domestic spat I don't know what would. Maybe she thought he was boring.

Milk

I can't fucking wait for this movie to come out. Harvey Milk is one of my favorite figures in history. His story has always moved me, and it's about time that it has been put on film. He helped define San Francisco in the later half of the 20th century, and his impact on gay rights is undeniable. As an American of Irish decent and a proud Hag, I have always been drawn to this story because of the convergence in my own life that is present in the history of Harvey Milk's rise to political prowess; and his death at the hand of a raging Irish bigot. Those social themes are still simmering under the surface in San Francisco. Sean Penn seems perfectly cast, and it doesn't hurt that the two hottest actors in Hollywood are also starring, James Franco and Emile Hirsch. The former I am sure everyone is familiar with, especially now that Pineapple Express has become such a hit. Hirsch, who is probably less well know but equally as endearing was the star of last year's sleeper hit, Into the Wild. I'd take either, or both!

I have been feeling super overwhelmed with work and grant writing, and all the other things that eat up so much time. This song has always been one of my favorite Marley tracks. It has been pumping me up the last few days, motivating me to get things done.

Hello Dolly

Gotta love Dolly Parton. This song and video made me laugh out loud, a lot.

Teela by the Bay

I got a surprise phone call from one of my oldest and best friends from San Francisco the other day.



I have not seen Teela since last August when Justin, Shaun and I went home to San Francisco for three weeks.

I did not know at the time that that trip would probably be my last to the City by the Bay for a while, because the family up and moved to France.



Anyway, I was looking through some photographs I took on my last trip home and since Teela hasn't seen them I thought I would post them.



Those last two are from the road trip we all took up the coast to Calistoga, I had never driven the coastal route. We stopped in a small town, right near where Hitchcock filmed The Birds, and had breakfast. Do you guys remember the otters swimming around us, and how I had that eggs benedict with oysters? Sounded like a good idea at the time.
